Project results
The project results aim to promote the inclusion of digital tools and game-based learning into the training curriculum and improve the competences of professionals to interpret these analytics.
Teaching challenges and learning gaps report
The Beyond Digits projects produces innovative digital tools and educational resources designed specifically for neurodivergent adults and professionals working with them.
You can access the State of the Art document here.
Curriculum for professionals and neurodivergent adults
The Beyond Digits curriculum includes learning objectives that directly address identified gaps and challenges in financial literacy for neurodivergent individuals found in the research.
The Curriculum will contain two sections, one targeting professionals working with neurodivergent adults and another addressing neurodivergent adults.
3D Digital Game
The experience of Omega Technology partners will be put into the designing of a 3D game available for laptops and tablets.
This game will support neurodivergent adults to learn basic concepts about economy and finances in a fun way. The game consists of a virtual 3D household environment, in which individuals will be immersed. Players will be asked to manage the household's income and decide on how to balance competing needs such as nutrition, recreation, education, health, etc. After each game, professionals will have access to online analytic tools to evaluate the learning process of the user.
This game will engage neurodivergent adults on the topic of financial literacy and support trainers on how to use game-based learning principles and specific features, such as "analytics" to assess trainees' performance and "game-based learning".
Mobile app
The Beyond Digits mobile app aims to empower neurodivergent adults to plan and monitor their expenditures effortlessly. Through the inclusive design of the app, neurodivergent adults will be able to see their income and decide where to spend their money and plan their next purchases.
As the 3D Game, the mobile app also provide analytic tools that can be examined by professionals and informal carers.
Training materials
The toolkit will help professionals and educators teach financial literacy to neurodivergent adults using digital game-based learning principles. It will also offer guidance on how to use the project's app and game analytics to provide more personalised training to learners. An accessibility scheme will also provide support on how to develop accessible materials.
